Assistant Professional Matthew Rees re-started the Gold package level of Academy membership in the summer holidays. Gold Juniors receive additional small group tuition led by Matthew. One of the groups, practising their chips onto the green is pictured here:

The Gold package is offered to all junior members of the club. The package focuses on helping our young juniors of the club better their skills and knowledge of the game while also increasing their understanding of how to improve.

We have a healthy 17 juniors right now enrolled in the Gold package. We have focused a lot on the importance of the short game the last few weeks and have learned some new drills to help better our putting for the future. During the winter we will most likely be indoors using the simulator room to practice and work on swing changes, we also intend to use this time to better understand how to play. We will be using some sessions to discuss and reflect on past competitions and maybe some errors that we made and dive into more of the psychology and planning around playing. We have a wonderful group of juniors this year that have represented our club well across the country and I’m looking forward to helping them grow in the near future.
